Save the Children Australia wanted to document their Cash Transfer Assessment Program in Fiji. Traditionally, following a natural disaster, aid agencies have given out items such as hygiene kits, shelter, food and household items. This assessment looked at the feasibility of giving cash instead that would allow people to buy what they need, ensuring support for local markets and getting the community back on its feet faster. This year Down Syndrome Victoria celebrates its 40th year working alongside people with Down syndrome and their families so they may reach their full potential and live the lives they choose.
